We are very lucky to live in such a beautiful place. We have clear rivers to play in, mountains to hike or bike, camping, boating, fishing, sight seeing, you name it, it’s probably here. Grants Pass is known for its great restaurants, tasting rooms and more.
Crater Lake, our only National park in Oregon but so worth seeing. Crater lake is about 2.5 hrs from Grants Pass. If you have never seen it, please do. Pictures do not do it justice.
Redwoods, The redwoods are only about 1.5hrs away. The size of them is something to behold. If you stay on HWY 199 you will go right through a grove of them. The road comes out in crescent city which has its own fun things to do.
Oregon Caves, located outside of Cave Junction. Super fun cave to explore. I believe they have tours. The Oregon Caves are a national monument. There have been bigfoot sightings out there. There is also a gift shop to check out.
Waterfalls, if you are in the mood to see waterfalls the road for that would be HWY 138. Start in Roseburg and head towards Diamond Lake. It follows the Umpqua river which is super beautiful on its own. There are several waterfalls to check out on this road. There are many other things to explore in this area but these are the highlights.
Shopping, if you are looking for fun places to shop, downtown Grants Pass is your place to go. There is a candy store, several restaurants, The Bear cave is a really fun place to go. If you want a little excitement come on down to Hellgate and ride the jet boats. They will take you down the river through Hellgate canyon. There is even a dinner trip you can go on. Next door to Hellgate is our Tasting Room. You can come in and get you a flight of Rum, Whiskey or Moonshine. You can also purchase bottles here to take home. All made locally in Grants Pass by one guy.
